Reflexive Modeling is a term that I use to describe the process I engage with when constructing and developing computer-based models. The idea with this type of modeling is to open the black box of algorithms and quantitative analysis. I trace the stories of the models and share the struggles, discussions, and questions that influenced the decisions made in the construction of a model.
A take inspiration from the following theories/frameworks:
- Participatory Modeling - The integration of stakeholders in the construction of a model goes beyond the definition of parameters. Participatory modeling, is not only about the ABM but the dialogues that the development of this artefacts can elicit.
- Cybernetics
- Actor-Network theory
- Science and Technology Studies
