By 2017, 1.7 billion people were considered as financially excluded by the World Bank. Due to the relevance of the problem, Complementary Currencies (CC), also known as monies with a special purpose, seem to be a potential solution. This doctoral project inquiries into the organising of money and its performative effect. It does so by following actors designing money and engineering markets.
